Square Skull Signet Ring

Collaboration between Dreadnought tattoos and Bethany May Silver. Damon has a stripped back American traditional tattoo style that lends itself beautifully to creating small simple designs for jewellery. 

The Square Skull Signet ring is a soft carved shape with a square face showing a naive style skull illustration. Skulls are a core motif of traditional tattooing and are rooted in the military and biker culture.

Carved in wax first by Bethany, the illustrative design was carved into the wax by Damon in his signature tattoo style. Bethany then casts each one from a mould into the desired recycled metal and finishes in her Bristol studio. Silver pieces are oxidised to bring out the detail. Damon also helped finish the first batch and the pair chose to keep the finish a little raw and rough highlighting the handmade element.

Each ring has slight imperfections and differences, to show marks of the hands that made it.
